    Thx for the insights. Do you all have any influence with Tourna? I also find it best for sweat but cringe at the color combo w/my mostly red racquets. Solinco's absorbent o.g.s are p.g. too.

    I belong to a hot and humid place and after seeing YT videos tried Tourna dry grip, just one word "horrible", worst quality. Hence I changed to a tacky grip, and finally settled to Gamma Supreme (super durable, tapered both ends and adequate length)... However I was not comfortable with tacky grips because of my super sweaty hands and hence tried another dry grip, Solinco Heaven Grip, Oh boy! Instantly fell in love with it, its way way better than the tourna dry grips.

    I use the yonex excel pro replacement grip (the grip that comes on stock yonex rackets). I like it because it's the perfect thickness for me. All others I've played with are too thick. And the yonex grip is also not too tacky, others I've played with were overly tacky.

    I don’t like the sandpaper feeling of Tourna, nor the durability. I used Wilson Pro and Yonex Supergrip for a while, until I discovered Toalson Quick Dry, which is now by far my favorite

  • @sdfswords

    Tournagrip absorbs sweat, and stays wet, Wilson repels sweat, stays way drier.

  • @ronalddelrosario7405

    I also started out using Tourna grip back in the late 80s. I've tried all kinds of grips, including just a base grip with no overgrips, straight leather, a cushiony grip, etc. I settled on a base thin leather grip (Kimony thin leather) and Wilson Pro overgrip. The Yonex Supergrap is pretty good too, but I really like the tack and feel of the Wilson Pro white overgrip. I've realized that if my hand gets too sweaty, it's because I'm not using a wristband to capture the sweat that's running down my arm onto my hand...

  • @movdqa
    @movdqa 2 дня назад

    I used to just buy whichever was cheap or which ever came with a can of balls and then I bought a racquet from a customizer and it has a Wilson Pro overgrip and I loved it and have been using it since around 2007. I just buy a 100-pack and keep some in my bag. It's tacky enough but not too tacky and I always go with white so I know when to change it. I like that it has the start tape and is tapered. It has the finishing tape though it would be nice if the top was trimmed too. At any rate, it is my favorite and I've been using it for so long that I can't imagine using anything else.

  • @stephenchalmers71
    @stephenchalmers71 2 дня назад

    Tourna Original overgrips feel great, but they’re difficult to put on and leave far too much residue on the grip when removed. Tourna has done nothing to modernize their grips over the years, even though it would be pretty easy to pre-cut tapers into them and do something to the inside of the overgrip so it doesn’t mess up whatever’s under it. I’ll stick with my Babolat VS overgrips, or Wilson Pro if I want something a little more tacky.

  • @chuckfriebe843
    @chuckfriebe843 2 дня назад

    Tourna is crap. It shreds after a couple of games. Completely useless. The best are, in this order, Yonex Super Grap, Wilson Pro Overgrip,, and finally Solinco dry grip in gray.

    Interesting to see them recommending Tourna overgrips which in my opinion, are inferior products. Tried them a long time ago because of Sampras using it. Then switched to Yonex Super Grap for many years, much longer lasting and very comfortable. Nowadays I just just use Chinese brands, much cheaper (3 grips for around 2 dollars), similar quality to Super Grap.

    I played ITFs in the early 90s and I was using Tourna then. I was a sweat monster so unfortunately it would last me only a few games, maybe a set but they were/are definitely the best money could buy and I loved them even though they would cost me more than my shoes would...lol. No it’s pretty easy. You just wrap all the way to the top, then flip a small edge to make a crease that aligns with the top. You then just cut the crease. It’s literally just an extra second.
